Introducing our Electric Vehicle Future: ZEB’s EV Forum: 8 June 2019

Zero Emissions Byron (ZEB) has announced that on Saturday, 8 June at Byron’s Cavanbah Centre, it will be holding a day-long, family-friendly exhibition and forum to introduce the NSW Northern Rivers to the latest electric vehicles and technology.

“Come along and find out how easily electric vehicles (EVs) can fit into your life at the same time as radically reducing carbon emissions,” said Bridie Schmidt, from the EV Forum organising team.

A range of carmakers will display their latest electric vehicles (EVs), both cars and bikes, from 10am until 5pm, with the opportunity to inspect EVs and speak with both local EV owners and manufacturer representatives.

“We’re expecting a great deal of interest in this first EV Forum of its kind to be held in the NSW Northern Rivers, particularly from those keen to see and understand more about EVs such as driving range and charging, and other forms of zero emissions transport,” she added.

Starting at 11am, a series of EV experts will outline the benefits and issues related to electric vehicles. Speakers will discuss new ways of carpooling and ride-sharing; electric scooters, bikes and trikes; charging infrastructure;  the industry and policies, and the most recent Australian EV innovations.

For school-aged children, ZEB is holding a competition, with great prizes.
11 – 18 year olds: What would your ideal electric vehicle (EV) transport solution look like? Describe it in under 400 words. Illustrate if you want.
5 – 10 year olds: Draw a picture of an electric vehicle you’d like to ride in.
Entries will be displayed at the EV Forum.
Kids: bring your entry along before midday. Judging happens at 2pm, when prizes will be presented.
