Dr Anne Stuart (Chair & Secretary)
Dr Anne Stuart brings a distinguished background in education, government policy, and corporate governance to ZEB. She has held senior roles as an educator and principal policy officer across state and national government resource management departments, as well as within state government-owned corporations. Anne was until recently, an Adjunct Research Fellow at Griffith University, lecturing in Humanities, Languages and Social Science. Anne leads with a sharp project management focus, combining strategic vision with deep, purposeful thinking. With years of experience engaging and influencing diverse stakeholder groups from all levels of government to community organisations, she brings the credibility, judgement, and relationship-building to make her a trusted voice in driving outcomes that matter.
Beth Wilson (Treasurer)
Beth Wilson is a highly qualified BAS Agent with 23 years’ experience in the finance industry. As the owner of a successful bookkeeping practice, she has provided expert financial services to a range of local businesses, including NGOs and NFPs. Beth's proven track record in compliance, accuracy, and her strategic decision-making ensures our organisation's fiscal health.
Willem Overbosch
Willem Overbosch is a sustainability leader committed to driving the vision that Sustainability Delivers Growth with a Purpose. Willem is Co- founder and Executive Director of SDG Align and Engagement Lead, Circular Economy Northern Rivers in the Office of the Pro Vice- Chancellor (Research and Education Impact) at Southern Cross University. With extensive experience in technology and sustainable business transformation, he led the innovative Community Software as a Service model, and in 2018 authored the # 1 bestselling management book Top Trends for Business Leaders. Willem helps small and medium-sized enterprises align their actions with the UN Sustainable Development Goals to benefit people, planet and prosperity. He immigrated from the Netherlands in 2022 and lives in the Northern Rivers with his partner and their four children.
Jill Moonie
Jill Moonie has been a professional content creator, producer, and educator in the screen and creative industries for over 35 years, working across universities, TAFE, and government agencies. As a member of the Bayside Residents Association, Jill brings to ZEB a strong community focus and a deep understanding of collaboration. She is committed to energy resilience and energy justice, believing that creative, networked, and community-led approaches are essential to achieving regional climate, economic, and social solutions. Jill has called the Shire home for nearly 20 years.
Wren (Rebecca) McLean - Project Manager
Wren McLean, our project manager has a strong sense of responsibility to protect the health of our planet for future generations of all species and has committed her working life to the environmental sector. As a conservation professional, her experience covers varied projects in the fields of protected area management, biodiversity conservation, environmental education and ecological restoration and has led her to establish strong project management and collaboration skills.
Wren has a Diploma of Conservation and Land Management, Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management and attained 1st class Honours for her research on the Southern Cassowary.
Dr Andy Baker - Project Officer
Dr Andy Baker is a highly respected fire and vegetation ecologist with 25 years of experience across the NSW North Coast and South East Queensland. Since founding Wildsite Ecological Services in 1997, Andy has established himself as a leading regional expert in fire ecology and the restoration of fire-dependent Eucalypt forests and heathlands. Since 2018, Andy is also a lecturer at Southern Cross University, lecturing in Fire Ecology & Management, Plant Identification & Conservation and Plant Biology.
Zero Emissions Byron, based in the Northern Rivers region, was founded in 2015.
