April e-news

Autumn is known as the “transitional” season – a great time to reflect on the necessary changes underway in our community to create a safe future and safe climate. We extend our warmest wishes to everyone affected by the floods. As a community, we must adapt together to the challenges of climate change, and it was heartening to see the level of support for each other throughout the region.

Sustainability drinks a hit!

We had a fantastic turn out and a beautiful evening at the Poinciana in Mullum on April 13th, where we launched our monthly Byron Sustainability Drinks networking event.  A crowd of around 50 emissions reduction enthusiasts mingled happily until Mayor Simon Richardson took the stage and welcomed everyone. Sasha Mainsbridge then mc’d the Soap Box Sessions, where we heard from a wide range of local groups about their work and what they need to accelerate their results. If you missed it, a summary of these sessions will be published in our website.

Next Byron Sustainability Drinks: Thursday May 11, 6-8 pm at Poinciana in Mullum. This will be the week after Renew Fest, so a great chance to keep the positive inspiration alive. Save the date!
