Zero Emissions Byron collaborated with the Coalition for Community Energy on a letter to the Minister for Energy and Climate Change to advocate for a substantial increase in the proposed $5 million community energy fund in the NSW Consumer Energy Strategy.
We requested that at least $28 million of the $280 million Consumer Energy Strategy be allocated to community-led energy initiatives — representing 10% of the total strategy budget — and reflective of the importance of funding at the local level.
